Second Chance at Success
Welcome to my TeamQuest Personal Page!
I am fundraising for the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) to help create a better future for every child and adult who struggles with dyslexia and other reading difficulties…because reading changes lives!
I was diagnosed with dyslexia when I was seventeen years old. The academic struggle was all too real. I remember cringing whenever I was expected to read aloud. No matter how much I studied, it felt like the results never reflected my effort.
But I never gave up! Without any academic support until college, I managed to graduate high school with National Honor Society and was accepted into every school I applied to.
I started receiving support in college, and what a relief that was! Given a second chance at success and utilized every resource and opportunity offered. I felt comfortable in my own skin; pledged a sorority, spent a semester interning in Washington, DC and graduated magna cum laude.
Patience has never been my best quality, but somehow I was able to cross that finish line.
No one should have to wait! I am running to ensure that every student receives the support that I waited for. Together we can create a world where everyone can read!
