Welcome to Lisa's Page
As you may know, I have been teaching students with dyslexia in Richardson ISD for the past 5 years. I have the best job in the world, and my students are amazing. They are smart, creative, athletic, artistic, witty, and amazing children. They inspire me every day. It is my responsibility to ensure that they leave my classroom with the reading skills necessary to be successful in their academic career and beyond.
This semester, I am fundraising for the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) to help create a better future for every child and adult who struggles with dyslexia and other reading difficulties…because reading changes lives! I'll be running the Rock N Roll Half Marathon in San Antonio in honor of my students.
IDA is the authoritative source of current information about dyslexia and other reading challenges. IDA focuses on on educating parents, teachers and professionals about dyslexia, assuring that structured literacy is embedded in educator training and providing the opportunity for all people to learn to read.
The goal is for all stakeholders to realize their full potential and advance our quest by responding immediately to people at their point of need with information or referral to available and accessible resources.
We articulate with impatience and clarity that reading is a civil right. We are committed to educating the general public about the economic impact of learning differences and other negative impacts of dyslexia on society.
Together we can create a world where everyone can read!
